Novenavibes uses this Mediun to once again welcome old and new students to Novena university for a fresh academic session, as a new student, the following tips useful for you to be successful in the school.
1. Being a fresher is not an embarrassment: irrespective of the fact that u came from another school to novena due to a problem or bad grades, that doesn't mean u aren't a fresher. The experience u have should be of advantage to u. Accept the tage "fresher" so that you can leave your old life and start afresh. Don't be ashamed of being in 100l it's just a starting point.
2. Do the right thing now: when your mates are busy doing their registration, follow suit. Don't wait because people are too many because immediately you have been left behind, tou might find it difficult to catch up. Follow friends in your own level so that you stay informed. That doesn't mean u should avoid the seniors because their advice can help.
3. Be contented, avoid unnecessary competition: this is mostly seen among girls. Do not want to have what she has or wear what she does because u don't know how or where she gets it. For the guys do not want to be who he is because "you don't know who he is".
4. Being your own boss doesn't mean freedom at last to go wild: many of us whi were being caged or being free for the first time should not capitalize on that to go wild.
5. Be careful on the orientation you get: many students will come to you and give you advice on steps to follow. Be careful, don't let anyone deceive you, bad is bad
6. Join Casor, Global, C.O.V, etc: if you are a Moslem, follow your brothers in prayers at your quarters, for the Christians join any fellowship on campus or even off-campus. Do not criticize student pastors because they will answer their own questions and u will answer yours.
7. 100level is when you choose your path: it's a FAT LIE that Fd results don't count, it does. Don't relax because you are just starting, your results in 100l may decide your fate. Here is when it all begins, try not to develop mad habits because it might be hard to deviate from it.
8. Don't join cult, avoid school fees scam: many students where involved in fraudulent acts which resulted to suspension and expulsion, pay all fees given to you by your parents, there is no short cut. Open your eyes c##tism does not pay, u can be popular and a big boy without "belonging" or as a "ju" or "juventus" or "chafman".
9. Swag city(obi bar), mc carthy(beach), aninze is not a crime but be careful it's addictive: do not form a habit of always being seen here 24/7. It's okay to have fun REPONSIBLY. Drug Addiction: don't drink every coke u see, tramadol, codeine,rochi ect is harmful to health.
10. Dating: some boys will say novena girls are cheap, that's a lie. Many girls will say novennovena are bad, that's a lie. Those are their own experiences. Currently the most successful relationships on campus started in 100l. It's a lie that novena boys has nothing to offer because no body can be useless in life., It's either u are a blessing or a lesson. Be watchful, a word is enough for the wise.
