NOVENA HAND, A PRIDE?

Novena hand is where people meet on daily basis, the question on my mind is, what is the purpose of erecting a giant hand?.
Is it for beautifying the campus or giving novena a face or a place where people pose for pictures?. What do u think was the main aim of novena hand?, is it achieved?.
