The Novena University Alumni Association was inaugurated yesterday by the Senate, at the school’s senate building, in an inaugural ceremony which lasted for about 30 minutes. Those in attendance include the Pro Chancellor, VC, DVc, Registrar, Director academic planning among others.

The chairman Board of Trustees, Ambassador (Dr.) Hassan Adamu in his speech said that in many universities, the Alumni association provides as much as 5% of the total annual budget of that university. He cautioned them that the association should not just be a name they carry like a certificate, but they should try to be independent from other bodies, and as the pioneer, every member should put in their very best no matter how little it is, and their best will be written down in history just like a song he sang to all at the inaugural ceremony that says ‘give me your best not for reward not for the gain of man but for the lord’.
He also added that the members of the board of trustee on behalf of the university and in connection with the Central bank of Nigeria, has asked CBN to float financial modules to the association to let members of the alumni have access to money for self-development because of the hope they have in them, encouraging them to register not only themselves but also register the university everywhere they go.
The Pro Chancellor then officially inaugurated the Association
The Chairman of the Alumni association Iyawa Justice giving the vote of thanks said there are projects they will embark on but of course liaising them with the school. He also made mention of 2 graduates of the institution (2013 set) that are who are now commissioners. He then appreciated the Registrar for recommending him for a scholarship he got. He gave gratitude to the school for giving them this platform saying that by God’s grace they shall conquer all.
