Last week we reported that popular Nigerian stand-up
comedian Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth received an international honour
from the city of Houston, Texas when the mayor declared July 17 as
Basketmouth Day.
The honour which was announced through a statement from the office of the Mayor of Texas Annise D. Parker was for his contribution in “integrating the Nigerian-American Community through his art for the past six years in Houston.”
Basketmouth joy knew no bound yesterday as he was issued a
Certificate of Congressional Recognition by the 18th Congressional
District of Texas of the United States House of Representatives
especially for uniting the Nigerians in Texas through his works through
his shows.
Before Basketmouth Day was a mere statement, now it has being passed into law.
The honour which was announced through a statement from the office of the Mayor of Texas Annise D. Parker was for his contribution in “integrating the Nigerian-American Community through his art for the past six years in Houston.”
