The intimidating structure of the new workers’ secretariat in Enugu state sits on 6.7 hectares of land.
The secretariat was constructed during Governor Sullivan Chime’s administration.
Sullivan Chime successfully but ran for governor of Enugu State on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform. He took office on 29 May 2007, succeeding Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani.
Chime favoured a 4-point agenda for development: Physical Infrastructure, Economic Expansion and Employment, Rural Development and Service Delivery.
The project which costs N13.6 Bn, is designed to house all 13 ministries in one place. Departments and agencies and will have provision for the installation of modern day office equipment for workers.
There are 13 buildings in total which include 4 complexes.
